The Commercial Property Division provides professional property services to the Council’s diverse operational and commercial portfolios. The operational portfolio comprises a wide range of property assets crucial to the delivery of the Council’s front-line services. The commercial portfolio comprises a mixture of retail, office, leisure, and agricultural holdings with a sizeable number of seedbed industrial and workspace units. The portfolio is growing and changing as the Council’s retail and leisure regeneration projects come to fruition.
We have an exciting opportunity for two Senior Surveyors to join our newly restructured and forward-thinking Commercial Property division.
2 x Senior Surveyor, Estates – Grade 11
The new Senior Estates Surveyors will join the Estates Team managing an independent and varied case load supporting all Council departments working with a wide range of property assets. Day to day responsibilities will include valuations, lettings, rent reviews, dilapidations, service charge management, disposals and acquisitions both leasehold & freehold, debt and arrears management and extensive stakeholder engagement within and outside the Council.
The role will also involve a degree of strategic portfolio planning, working with property stakeholders within the Council’s Corporate Landlord model crystalising current and future property stakeholder needs and documenting, implementing and delivery of the strategic plan.
The role will include other duties as required and so the successful candidates will have a flexible attitude to their work and demonstrate a willingness to learn and to take on new tasks.
We welcome applications from general practice estates surveyors in both the private and public sectors; commercial acumen is prerequisite. Candidates should be suitably experienced chartered surveyors with proven expertise in a broad range of general practice estate management disciplines and property sectors relevant to each role. The successful candidates must be team players, persuasive, articulate and confident enough to hold their own in the fast-moving commercial environment.
Applicants should possess good IT, communication and customer service skills and be willing to work flexibly across a variety of disciplines and teams.

You will be based in Wokingham town centre, a short walk from the railway station and easily accessible by car. Currently most staff at WBC are working from home in accordance with government guidelines. The future working pattern is likely to be a combination of flexible home working and office based.
