Information, Advice and Guidance Officer - DHP Employment Support

ADVERT

Tower Hamlets Council’s employment and skills service is seeking to recruit two experienced and enthusiastic employment focused Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG) officers. You will work closely with the council’s Housing Options team to support LBTH residents/families experiencing multiple complex barriers into training and employment, with a particular  focus on those at risk of homelessness.  This is a target driven project and applicants will need to work under pressure to achieve results.  This is a rewarding opportunity to reduce the risk of homelessness and poverty in Tower Hamlet.

These are 12-month fixed-term contracts working 35 hours per week and based primarily at Workpath, Upper Bank Street, Canary Wharf.

We need committed, energetic staff able to work outside their comfort zone to provide personal and innovative support for our service users. The ideal candidates need to be passionate, creative, detail-oriented and dedicated to providing a client-centred service. You will deliver all elements of employability skills development and job support needed to progress clients into work, from assessment and action plan stages to successful job outcome. You will work one-to-one with clients, but will also deliver group support and work alongside specialist colleagues and partner agencies, including training providers, securing positive training and employment outcomes.

You will be IT literate and able to effectively use CRM/MI systems to monitor and track client assessment, interventions and progress.

These positions are funded in partnership with LBTH Housing Strategy & Development, but are based with LBTH Workpath service.
