Casual Tutor Adult Education

Wokingham Adult Education are looking for experienced sessional tutors to deliver non-accredited community learning courses across the borough and online.

We are looking for tutors who are passionate about teaching adult learners in a range of courses in community settings.  Our range of short courses can be the first step back into education for learners and tutors will encourage and support learners to progress towards their personalised learning aims. Our tutors work closely with the Community Learning Coordinator in the designing, planning and delivering of courses which stretch and challenge our learners. They also prepare a variety of learning materials, and undertake administrative tasks linked with teaching including recording attendance and learner’s achievement.

Candidates must hold a recognised teaching qualification in adult education at level 3 or above and, must have English and Maths qualifications at level 2 or above, and ideally have considerable experience of teaching adults.

Our curriculum covers a wide range of adult education courses from family learning to employability courses and we are seeking tutors to teach any of the following courses:

  • Introduction to working in social care
  • How to understand adult social care - for carers
  • Family Learning - Supporting teenagers with anxiety
  • Family Learning - Supporting new parents
  • Healthy Eating for children or adults
  • ICT for beginners  
  • Digital skills for beginners
  • Hair and beauty
  • ESOL
  • Introduction to coding
