Term Time only, Scale 2/3/4 depending on experience £18,468.37 - £19,837.45 pro-rata

Start date: December 2021

Star Primary School will be opening a brand new Day Care provision for ‘’Little Stars’’ aged 0 to 3 years. The Little Stars Day Care provision will predominantly cater for staff children from Star Primary and neighbouring Newham schools; offering local professionals a Day Care setting that caters for the needs of educational staff as well as meeting the needs of professional parents in the local community.

We are looking for an Early Years Practitioner to provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for all children within the Little Stars Day Care provision. This will include being part of the day-to-day operation of the setting to ensure the delivery of the highest standards of care and education in accordance with the EYFS and encouraging children to participate in the social and academic life of Day Care to help enable them all to become more independent learners and help to raise their standards of achievement. All Day Care staff will act as a Key Worker for small groups of children ensuring they have equal opportunities to learn and develop.

Purpose of the job:

  • To promote children’s personal, social & emotional development, communication and language and physical development and contribute towards meeting children’s needs throughout the day for security, nourishment, stimulation and rest.
  • To develop and maintain strong partnerships and communications with parents/carers to facilitate day-to-day caring and early learning needs.
  • To take responsibility to regularly complete key children’s records within agreed timescales.
  • To work proactively within the staff team to promote and extend the children’s learning experiences in the moment.

We can offer you the opportunity to work with fantastic children and an effective and dedicated staff team, with the support of enthusiastic governors and parents. We provide excellent opportunities for furthering your professional development and a chance to make a real difference to our school. We can also offer a supportive and nurturing working environment and excellent employee wellbeing benefits.

The school is committed to professional development and equality for all staff and will provide a high level of induction and training for new staff members.
