Fancy a new challenge? We have created an exciting new opportunity as a part time Payroll Assistant – a role offering structure and variety within a small supportive team.
With previous administrative or office experience, you need to be passionate, enthusiastic and with an aptitude to learn. You will ideally have some knowledge of payroll, but ongoing training will be provided to ensure you meet the grade.
Working as part of a small team you will be running the monthly payroll in a medium sized organisation from start to finish and producing the subsequent reporting requirements. You will provide support on all payroll projects and carry out both monthly and annual reporting so you will need to be highly numerate with strong attention to detail and with excellent organisational and computer literacy skills as well as a methodical and analytical approach to work.
You must be trustworthy and discrete to handle sensitive and confidential information and, being the main point of contact for all payroll questions from staff, Members and auditors you must be approachable with a good quality of customer care and good communication skills.
The role covers 18.5 hours a week to be worked over 3 or 4 days. Actual working arrangements can be discussed to suit, including the potential to work from home for part of the week. In addition to this the Council operates a flexible working system so you will be expected to be flexible with working hours when there is high volume of work.
