North Somerset’s Virtual School is looking to appoint to the new role of Virtual School Extended Officer. This is a strategic role with a focus on influencing practice in schools to improve the educational outcomes of children and young people with a social worker.


The post holder will support colleagues across the council, headteachers, designated safeguarding leads and governors to improve educational outcomes for children with a social worker through developing a clear identification of need; recognising barriers to learning and demonstrating how to overcome these; leading on programmes of work and approaches to engagement.


This post is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
