This is a fantastic opportunity to join our high profile, well-respected and friendly Strategy, Policy and Performance unit in the role of Performance and Projects Officer, working to meet the needs of a changing and ambitious council and supporting its continuous improvement journey. This is an exciting time to join the organisation, as the Council resets its priorities following the pandemic, and the team is expanded and strengthened. There are two openings in the team in this role.
We need to take decisions based on high-quality insights and be disciplined in the way we track our progress and performance. As a Performance and Projects Officer you will be responsible for helping to deliver a successful performance management framework and reporting software across the council and turning data into insights that can help senior leaders take operational and strategic decisions. You’ll develop a role as a trusted adviser, helping colleagues to understand what the data means for their business and facilitating effective conversations to support continuous improvement and unblock delivery challenges.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have a keen eye for detail and be comfortable using a wide range of data and intelligence from a variety of systems and evidence sources, to develop insights and tackle complex business problems. You will have proven experience of data analysis and performance reporting and be proficient with reporting tools and systems, able to pick up new systems and processes with ease.
The ability to produce high quality, user-friendly analysis and clear and concise reports is a must. And with excellent communication skills, you will be able to work with a wide range of people across the organisation and external partners. You’ll also need to understand the complexities of working in a political environment and be able to appreciate and respond to different perspectives.
The council is set in a major tourism area with tourist attractions including Windsor Castle, Legoland and Ascot Racecourse and with the Royal Family on the doorstep, this is a good place to live and work. There are excellent transport connections to London and the west of England, with the new Elizabeth Line opening in Maidenhead in 2022.
The Council operates a flexible system in relation to remote working arrangements however for this post there is an expectation of working in the office at least one day a week, and according to the needs of the business.
