Here in the School Admissions team, we provide a professional and helpful service for parents applying for their child’s school place. Focused on delivering results in a timely way, we process approximately 12,000 applications for school places in and surrounding Central Bedfordshire. Join our friendly and supportive team, and you’ll have the chance to find your greatness as you play a senior role in the admissions process.
Conscientious and committed with a can-do attitude, you will be responsible for coordinating the annual admission allocations for Transferring to Secondary and Upper School applications. This will include preparing and presenting cases at school admission appeal hearings in compliance with the School Admissions Code and School Admissions Appeals Code. You’ll also work with the Admissions Manager in the annual admission arrangements process and liaising with schools and academies to support this. Your role will see you managing and developing two Admissions Officers and one Admissions Assistant.
Known for your enthusiasm and attention to detail, you will have local government experience, in particular experience of working in a school admissions team. An excellent communicator, able to make an impact face to face and through your report writing, you will be skilled in preparing and presenting information. You’ll also be strong on both managing and supervising staff and planning and implementing processes and procedures on a cyclical basis taking in to account deadlines and resources. Your ability to work under pressure and on your own initiative will make you stand out from the crowd.
