Knowsley Library Service, through its 5 branches, lends books and resources, supports customers with access to computers and information, and provides activities to children, young people and adults. The School Library Service, a Traded Service, provides schools with high quality resource loans, responding to the curriculum and supporting reading for pleasure.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, highly motivated person to apply for the role of Librarian: Children's Services. You will develop, co-ordinate, monitor, evaluate and promote library services to children, young people and families and liaise with the School Services Librarian to deliver and implement joint school and library initiatives, and support delivery of the School Library Service.
The successful candidate will have proven experience of working within a modern library service. Qualified to Degree/Level 3 in an appropriate discipline, they will demonstrate the capacity to contribute to the development of services to children, young people and families delivered in libraries, schools and community venues.
At Knowsley Council we will consider requests for flexible working. For most roles, the following types of flexibility are usually possible: flexible hours, working from home, compressed hours, part-time.
