Contract Support Officer - Rail North Partnership

Our vision is of a thriving North of England, where modern transport connections drive economic growth and support an excellent quality of life. Our Rail North Partnership team, which is a partnership between the Department for Transport (DfT) and Transport for the North (TfN), work together in transforming rail services across the north of England through joint management of the Norther Trains Limited (NTL) and TransPennine Express (TPE) rail services agreements.

We now looking for a Contract Support Officer to provide support to the rail contract work stream and coordinate the management of documentation to assist in the successful delivery of Train Operator business plans, ensuring timely and collaborative compliance of all related activity leading to the overall economic development of train services across the North of England.

The primary aim of this role will be to support the delivery of distinct elements of straightforward projects or contribute to the control/delivery of projects/programmes of work as required. You will be required to support the processes needed to answer questions from government, stakeholders and members of the public on the performance of train services across the North of England.

Key competencies for this role will see the ideal candidate being proactive in nature, supporting the rail contract delivery, and the Contract Management Delivery teams, whilst being a team player, with the ability to communicate highly and effectively whilst providing exceptional customer centric services.

The successful candidate will be adept in problem solving, possess good administration and organisational skills and have a background in contract management, commissioning or procurement combined with an ability to develop credible relationships with industry leaders.

You will have a relevant degree, or the equivalent relevant experience in contract management or are working towards professional qualification or chartered status.
