More Information

School Nurse – Community Staff Nurse

Achieving for Children is an award-winning social enterprise created by Kingston and Richmond Councils in 2014, expanding into the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead in 2017. We are responsible for delivering the entirety of children’s services in all three local authorities.

Achieving for Children has been up and running for four years, and in that time, we have established a reputation as one of the leading children’s services providers in the country. We are one of the Department for Education’s eight ‘Partners in Practice’, tasked with leading improvement across the sector.

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic and passionate qualified nurse to join the School Nursing Team. The successful candidate will be part of a highly skilled workforce working with children and young people aged between 5 – 19 years. We work in partnership with children, young people and families to promote their health and wellbeing and provide a key link between health and education.

As a Community Staff Nurse working for Achieving for Children (AfC), you will work as a member of the School Nursing Team with responsibility for specific areas of work delegated by the Specialist Practitioners. After the relevant training the successful candidate will take a lead role in delivering specific elements of the Healthy Child Programme 5 – 19 years, which will include medical conditions in school, night-time bedwetting clinics and targeted health support for families.

To be a Community Staff Nurse for AfC, you will be passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people as well as demonstrating the following points:

  • Active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Evidence of practice relevant to school nursing and/or working in the community setting or equivalent.
  • Evidence of appropriate professional development.

In return, we will offer you high quality support and development opportunities. If you would like to find out more about this exciting opportunity, please contact Pauline Green, School Nursing Manager – School Nursing Team on 07887 527574 for an informal discussion.
