Health Improvement Coordinator

The Kent and Medway Healthy Workplaces programme has an opportunity for an individual passionate about tackling health inequalities to join the established team. Reporting to the Senior Public Health Manager the post holders will support the delivery of the Kent and Medway Workplace Health Programme across Kent.

Providing advice and guidance to businesses and organisations across Kent on health and wellbeing topics including mental health, physical activity and healthy eating. The post holders will be required to coordinate the implementation, evaluation and administration of workplace health improvement projects in their designated area using a settings based approach to health improvement.

Medway Council is working in partnership with Kent County Council to deliver this programme of work, with a post fully funded for 1 further year of a initial 2 year contract. The successful candidates will be responsible for covering an area in Kent in line with the Integrated Care Partnership (ICP) areas:

  • Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley

The successful applicant will need to be able to engage businesses from all forms of industry. Managing an independent caseload and required to operate at times for extended periods away from the office at Medway Council in Chatham. A high degree of organisation and self-motivation will be critical in each role. All team members across the programme are required to possess excellent communication skills, allowing for the communication of complex health improvement messages and evidenced based best practice in ways which are accessible to different audiences.

Due to the need to visit organisations for businesses assessment, meeting and events across the county the ability to drive and own a car is considered essential.
