Job Duties:

Hertfordshire County Council in partnership with Sunnyside Rural Trust and SPS Training Ltd have been successful in securing funding from the European Social Fund.  The European Social Fund helps local areas stimulate their economic development by investing in projects which will support skills development, employment and job creation, social inclusion and local community regenerations. The Inclusive Employment Project will be managed within the Step2Skills Team at Hertfordshire County Council.

The Employer Liaison Officer will be expected to develop effective and sustained working relationships with employers to secure appropriate work-based training and employability opportunities for participants. You will identify employment opportunities for participants whilst actively promoting the services of the project to a wide range of stakeholders. You will have responsibility for liaising with employers to source vacancies, identifying and establishing contacts with local employers through innovative outreach and marketing activities to promote the Project, its services and the benefits of recruiting its participants. You will work collaboratively with other employer liaison functions both internally and externally to ensure a co-ordinated and strategic approach to developing and maintaining successful employer relations and opportunities for participants.

Ideally, you will have experience in working to overcome the challenges faced by people furthest from the job market. In addition, you will possess a wide range of skills and capabilities, such as effective communication, negotiation, sales, flexibility, training, motivation and be able to challenge misconceptions. They must be highly organised, able to work on their own initiative and the ability to generate their own workload.
