The Public Health & Regulation Team administers and enforces the Environmental Health & Licensing functions of Adur & Worthing Councils. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed person to join our team with a specialism in Taxi & Private Hire Licensing

This is a varied role and duties include, but are not limited to; accepting and processing applications, dealing with telephone & email enquiries, typing letters, producing licences, inputting data onto our computer system, taking payments, scanning and taking service requests from businesses and members of the public on the phone, by email or face to face in reception.

You will have excellent communication and keyboard skills and be flexible to deal with a variety of situations and tasks. You will need to be able to work under pressure and be able to prioritise your own workload. You will be able to work as part of a team but also have the ability to work on your own initiative.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational and administrative skills with meticulous attention to detail as in some instances strict Government deadlines have to be met.

Staff are our most important asset and we therefore have a benefit package which reflects our continuing commitment to our employees.  This includes:

  • Local Government Pension
  • Training & development
  • Occupational Health
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
  • Flexible working options

We are committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community - a place where we can all be ourselves and succeed on merit. Staff work in a supportive and safe environment, recognising their responsibility to value and respect each other’s contributions. Standards of conduct must be of the highest level to ensure that no-one is harassed, bullied or victimised. We offer a range of family friendly, inclusive employment policies, staff engagement forums and are keen to hear from applicants from a variety of different backgrounds.
