Central Control Operator – working weekends (averaging 6.83 hours per week on a 3-week rolling rota)

Salary Band C, £3,785 - £4,097 per annum

We have a vacancy for a Central Control Operator to join our 24-hour, 365 day a year Central Control Team, working weekend shifts on a 3-week rota basis. You will need some degree of flexibility to complete training, attend team meetings or occasionally provide cover for colleagues on other shifts on an ad hoc basis during the week at various times of the day or night. 

The job is lone working with the shift pattern being mornings’ week one, afternoons’ week two and every third weekend off. Full details can be found in the job pack. 

 We are looking for someone who enjoys talking to people on the telephone and able to stay calm whilst offering reassurance in a variety of situations, sometimes difficult ones. You will be part of the council’s Customer Service Team providing a helpline service to the people in North West Leicestershire. The team takes pride in delivering a speedy and professional response to our customers and provides a vital link through telecare community alarms for elderly and vulnerable persons who may need assistance by calling on the help of a named contact or the emergency services.  The team also handles the council’s out of hours’ emergency calls from people throughout the district, e.g. housing maintenance emergencies for tenants, dangerous structures reported by Police or other major incidents such as fire or flood.
