The Role

Sefton Council are in the process of advancing our Occupational Therapy & Sensory Service. We are now looking to appoint 2 experienced and dynamic Occupational Therapists who can take on the position of Lead practitioner to the Occupational Therapy and sensory services within Sefton’s Adult Social Care Service.

The roles will provide supervision and day to day management to support the Occupational Therapy & Sensory Team who have continued to demonstrate true commitment and purpose during the pandemic and have shown great resilience and significant innovation.

Your role would to be to support the Principal OT with further innovation and expansion and embed the new ways of working that have developed.

You will also support a programme of improvement and further development of quality assurance and audit mechanisms.

Occupational Therapy and Sensory needs are firmly placed at the centre of Sefton’s assessment and planning process. Further changes in relation to ‘moving with dignity’ have been employed by all members of the Team which has positively impacted on the delivery of OT & Sensory services to the community.

Further innovation is taking place following the appointment of a Technology Enabled Care Officer who together with this post will set out the council’s plan to enhance independent living through the emerging digital assistive technology agenda.

Interviews will be conducted via online conferencing facilities i.e. Microsoft Teams.

Our development work has been recognised by RCOT and members of the Team have recently participated in a RCOT presentation to Principal OT Managers on a national stage. The team weas also finalists in the 2021 Local Government Chronicle Awards.

You will be required to work closely with partners, elected members and front-line Social Workers embedding the core values and role that Occupational Therapy in Sefton has in ensuring positive outcomes for individuals and carers.

You will be accountable for performance and have the ability to ensure that the Principal OT is informed of issues, unforeseen events and budget targets and forecasting.
