More than just an ordinary local authority, the City of London Corporation is the governing body of the Square Mile, a global business hub. Our traditions may be centuries-old, but our business practices are cutting edge - and that includes our approach to corporate strategy. A major programme of transformation is now underway to support pace, enterprise, agility and inclusivity. This programme will have major impact, benefiting not only the people who live, work and visit here, but the wider national and global economy. A newly created team, led by our Chief Strategy Officer, will ensure cohesion between the different elements of the City Corporation as we move forward.
Your expertise in business intelligence and data analytics will be vital to shaping our future. Specifically, you will lead the development and delivery of a new capability to inform decision-making. A key challenge will be to support the Chief Strategy Officer in presenting evidence-based options and insights for the City Corporation. You’ll work across departments and different stakeholders to source and validate data, and exploit its full value. You will also maintain up-to-date knowledge of current practice and thinking in business intelligence, and identify opportunities for innovation and collaboration in further developing our capabilities.
A creative thinker, able to see the potential for business intelligence and analytics within the City Corporation, you’ll also have the analytical and strategic skills to find the solutions best suited to our organisational needs. You’re likely to have a strong track-record in the business intelligence field, which will have included working with large and dispersed data sets, and designing, building, testing and maintaining data analytics solutions. The ability to work closely with senior management is essential, and you will need good knowledge of local and national government issues, including performance measurement.
This role is offered on a full-time basis. We are open to considering applications for job share, flexible working and compressed hours working. We are committed to Equal Opportunities and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
