The Electoral Commission is the independent body that regulates party and election finance, sets standards for well-run elections and encourages people to register to vote.

Job Description

With a wide variety of tasks and a genuine opportunity to develop, particularly in the fields of planning and project/performance/benefit management, this is a great time to join the Planning and Performance Team at the Commission.

The role will provide support internally to our Project Managers and the PMO Team and will involve helping to deliver project management training to improve skills across the organisation. The role will also provide support for our internal audit recommendation programme of work.

We have recently implemented a new system and processes for project and performance reporting and the successful applicant will be working with the Planning/Performance Team to help with this.

Role Requirements

Ideally the candidate will have a good academic record, some experience in a project or performance environment and should either have or be willing to work towards a qualification in this area.

They should be able to evidence their ability to make things happen and to take responsibility when they are given the opportunity. The role requires proficient IT skills – proven experience of using Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and some experience of MS Project would be helpful but training will be given. Ultimately being quick to learn, proactive and with a desire to add value are the key requirements of the role.

We offer excellent terms and conditions, including flexible working hours and the opportunity to join the Civil Service pension (dependent on scheme rules).

We would like to continuously increase the diversity of our employees. Applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic candidates are particularly welcomed.

Successful applicants can work from London or anywhere in the UK but note that we do not pay London weighting if working from home.

The closing date for applications is Monday, 31 January 2022 at 12 noon.

Interviews will take place week commencing 7 February 2022.

We will be using video conferencing tools for the interviews. We will confirm details with shortlisted candidates.
