Biodiversity Manager

Halton Borough Council are working with Mersey Gateway Environmental Trust (MGET) to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Biodiversity Manager to join the team at MGET.

MGET is an independent charitable Trust set up in 2010 to monitor, promote the conservation, protect, and improve the environment across 1600 ha area of the Upper Mersey Estuary, running all the way from the Silver Jubilee Bridge, to the new Mersey Gateway bridge and upriver towards Warrington.

The Biodiversity Manager role provides an excellent opportunity to help to improve the natural environment in the estuary, communicate science and research, as well as oversee and run projects on environmental monitoring and nature conservation.

You will be educated to degree level in environmental science/nature conservation or possess equivalent experience working on projects in and around ecology, nature conservation, or the wider environmental sector or within a local authority or comparable organisation.

With project management experience, you will have the ability to maintain effective working relationships with a range of key stakeholders. You will have experience with fund raising and the ability to deliver project goals on time and to budget.

In addition, you will be passionate about the environment, are interested in current developments in the sector and would like to work as a team to implement changes throughout the Mersey Estuary.

Interviews will be held on 27th June 2022.
