The Trustees of Worth Primary School wish to appoint an enthusiastic and trustworthy person to undertake the demanding, but varied role, of Site Maintenance Officer.  At Worth, we pride ourselves on a love of learning in a happy and safe environment. Our school is part of the community and our children, parents and staff are proud to come here and represent us.

Our staff are experienced, forward-thinking and motivated, dedicated to each and every child with our school. The successful candidate will be expected to work well as part of a team and contribute to maintaining and improving the school environment with a pride, vigour and warmth.

You will be expected to undertake the efficient maintenance of the buildings and site, including minor repairs and improvements, monitor and operate site engineering systems, organise and monitor the work of contractors, ensuring site security and health and safety systems across the school.

The working day will be split, with a longer lunch period in the middle.  It would run from 7.45am to 11.15am, then 1.15pm to 5.15pm is preferred - this can be discussed at the interview.  There is also the opportunity to work additional hours to support school life.

As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If you feel that this post would be suited to you or would like any further information about our school, we look forward to hearing from you.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (as amended in 2013 and 2020) and as such, any cautions, convictions or bind-overs that are ‘not protected’ will need to be disclosed by shortlisted applicants when requested. All staff appointments are subject to satisfactory safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS and barred list check.

The closing date for the application is 11.55pm on Sunday 17th July 2022. Interviews will be held week commencing Monday 18th July 2022, with a view to the successful candidate starting as soon as possible subject to checks and references.
