Assistant Project Manager

Our Property Assets & Projects Team is looking to recruit to an Assistant Project Manager, who will be vital in supporting the Senior Project Manager(s) in delivering multi-million-pound projects that will be used by North Somerset residents and visitors for generations.


Projects will include new schools builds, major refurbishments and planned maintenance works to ensure the corporate and educational estate is operational and fit for purpose. You will support the Senior Project Manager (s) to make sure these schemes are delivered on time and within budget and meet the commitments within the North Somerset Corporate Plan. The post holder will be expected to apply technical knowledge to a range of capital and maintenance projects to support their delivery in compliance with the requirements of the council.


The post holder will assist the Senior Project Manager(s), with the day to day delivery of the capital projects programme, using skills that have been gained through professional qualifications and/or practical experience.


The post holder will also deliver capital project tasks as deemed appropriate for the grade of the post.


Ideally educated to degree level or ability to demonstrate relevant experience, the postholder will be working towards or be prepared to work towards an industry recognised qualification.


This post is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
