A fantastic opportunity for an innovative, creative, courageous and resilient Secondary English Teacher to grow and thrive in a unique special school in an ethnically diverse inner-city area.
The ideal candidate will have successful experience of teaching Secondary English in either a special or mainstream education setting, as we are just as keen to encourage applications from candidates with a relevant mainstream background as those with special school experience. The candidate will be innovative in their approach, they will have a proven track record of their impact in securing high quality outcomes for pupils’ learning and achieving in Secondary English up to GCSE level. They will have a proven track record of accelerated progress and a robust and secure subject knowledge to teach to GCSE level and possibly beyond. They will know how to engage and enthuse learners to develop a love for English.

Eko Pathways School
Eko Pathways is a brand new purpose-built special school for children with social, emotional, behavioural and mental health needs, with a therapeutic approach. It has places for between 77 and 112 children and young people, catering for Year 1 to Year 11.
The school’s provision for pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs is innovative and successful (Ofsted October 2019). Ofsted graded the school good overall and noted the school has high expectations for its pupils’ education and wants them to excel beyond their lessons. We believe that our pupils need to learn, grow and thrive to be successful regardless of their starting point.
