Senior Residential Care Worker

Parklands is a residential respite unit for young people. Our home provides short breaks for young people who have learning disabilities and complex health needs.

As a Senior Residential Care Worker you will provide personal, health, social and domestic care to our young people in accordance with their care plans. Your role will include administering medication, planning of activities and encouraging participation, maintaining accurate case records and ensuring high standards of care.  You will also manage a team of dedicated Care Workers.

You should have a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent, a GCSE Grade 5-9 in English Language (or equivalent), together with previous experience of managing staff.

You will also have knowledge of ‘The Children’s Homes Regulations 2015’, ‘The Care Standards Act 2000’, an understanding of issues for disabled children and their families, and the development needs of children and young people.

Previous experience of working directly with children and young people within a children’s residential setting is essential.

You will be expected to work various shifts on a flexible 4 week rota pattern including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep in. You should also hold a full driving licence and be willing to drive a mini bus as required.
