We are looking to appoint a Research Assistant to join our dynamic team, ensuring that West Berkshire remains #open for business for years to come.
The council has ambitious plans to ensure West Berkshire remains a beautiful place where people want to live, thrive and do business in a changing world, ensuring we are ready to meet the challenges posed by economic drivers and climate change. These plans include a refreshed approach to the regeneration of a council-owned industrial estate to deliver quality jobs; working with partners to reduce barriers to employment for local people; addressing challenges to rural economic growth in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; and delivering place-making strategies for our three town centres.
Reporting to the Senior Economic Development Officer, you will focus on research, monitoring and evaluation to support our Economic Development Strategy.
You are likely to be a recent graduate or equivalent, ideally in a relevant subject such as Economics, Geography or Town Planning. You will need to be someone who is passionate about making a difference, relishes a challenge, is a creative thinker and who has strong communication and organisational skills. You will embrace the opportunity to lead on individual work streams and build up practical experience and skills to complement your recent academic study or equivalent.
We are ideally looking to offer the successful candidate the full number of hours advertised above. We may however consider offering less hours than advertised providing they meet the requirements of the role and service which will be determined by the recruiting manager.
