You will be supported to carry out the following duties & responsibilities…..

To manage and support the highway safety inspections team, working with technical specialist responsible for delivering the Council's Highway Management and Maintenance Plan as the Highway Authority.

Work collaboratively across the organisation to build and develop our revenue-based highway maintenance programmes, including how we manage our networks assets whilst achieving best value for money.

React quickly and decisively to urgent works required to ensure our highway is safe for all users.

What we're looking for...

Great at prioritising and self-motivated individual, who is creative, innovative, and comfortable working to deadlines. Good communication skills are vital, as are the interpersonal skills it takes to work as part of a team and liaise with a wide range of professionals.

To succeed, you'll need a HNC/HND in an appropriate discipline, knowledge of the Highways Act 1980, New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 and other relevant codes of practice and legislation. Confident in your ability to apply current government policies and design standards. You're also adept at analysing information and producing coherent reports and recommendations on your specialist service area.
