Neighbourhood Officer

Neighbourhood Officer

The London Borough of Bromley’s Neighbourhood Management team are looking for individuals with suitable experience to be the lead Officer in a localised area to deliver the operational management and monitoring of front services, most chiefly Waste and Street Environment services. Experience is important, but personal drive, ambition and desire to work dynamically to deliver and develop improved services is crucial to the role.  We are an ambitious employer looking for an ambitious person to join our team and play a pivotal role in improving how we serve the people who use our services.

The role is varied and challenging, comprising approximately 30% work using IT and Contract monitoring systems at a laptop and 70% in the local community, supported by mobile IT systems.

You will be responsible for achieving the highest standards in contract monitoring and operational problem solving, with a specific interest and demonstrable ability in providing excellent customer service to ensure that contracted services are delivered and value for money is supplied. You will have the scope and opportunity for driving improvements in our front-line services, developing improvements with our service providers, and increasing satisfaction by our customers and stakeholders in the services we provide. You will be the central point of contact for Neighbourhood Management in a distinct area and monitor and manage issues in the operational delivery of all Neighbourhood Management services, including Waste Collections and Street Environment.

Key areas of personal experience for this role include an understanding of contracted services, personal drive, excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including the commercial contractors, Councillors, and the public.
