Principal Officer

Halton Borough Council are  looking for an experienced individual who can play a vital role in contributing towards the delivery of its Waste and Recycling operational services.

With more investment and improvements being implemented within Halton and the surrounding areas there has never been a more exciting time to join our team.

The role

As part of the role you will be responsible for managing, monitoring and controlling the Council’s Waste and Recycling Operational Services, with the objectives of providing quality, cost effective, efficient domestic refuse collection, recycling and commercial waste services.

You will be committed to  ensuring that services operate in accordance with the Council’s statutory requirements and internal policies/procedures within and arising from all Environmental, Transport and other relevant legislation.

An intergral part of the role will be implementing the Council’s Health and Safety Policy and the Waste Management Health & Safety Policy and to ensure that all staff comply with their individual responsibilities arising from these Polices and any relevant Health and Safety legislation.

About you 

We are looking for someone who has substantial experience and be able to demonstrate a proven ability to manage front line operational services.

Membership of Chartered Institute of Waste Management is desirable but not essential.
