The role
We are looking for an enthusiastic enforcement planner to join our dynamic and forward thinking planning enforcement team within the heart of our planning department. Your role will be to investigate and resolve breaches of planning control undertaking using effective negotiation and formal action.

In this role you will deal with a mix of enforcement breaches across the vibrant and varied borough. Your investigations may lead to formal action, with the service of enforcement notices, prosecution proceedings including preparation of evidence, and defending your enforcement decisions at appeal. You will also deal with proactive enforcement projects seeking to tackle key issues within the borough, and finding innovative ways to tackle enforcement issues.

About you
You will have completed or be working towards a planning or related degree or
equivalent apprenticeship in Town Planning with eligibility for Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute or have sufficient work experience to meet eligibility for RTPI.

You will have knowledge of current and draft planning legislation at local, London regional and national levels.

To be successful in this role you will be a strong communicator with the ability to negotiate resolutions to planning breaches and manage the concerns of stakeholders. You will be able to contribute innovatively to key digital projects and the development of digital tools to improve efficiency.
