Finance Manager

St Helens Borough Council is at an exciting stage of a significant transformation programme, with the modernisation of the finance function integral to these plans.
There is no better time to join us and become part of our improvement journey and help build our legacy. Now more than ever, we need to drive innovative change across our services, enabling the Council to take the next step in delivering its ambitious agenda and adapting collectively to a changing world, including significant programmes of social care reform and regeneration to deliver.

Supporting the Director of Finance in the provision of financial support across the Council’s Directorates and Departments, and working collaboratively with managers and colleagues, the successful candidate will play a key role in the provision of accurate and effective financial support and financial information, whilst ensuring that the related accounting and budget needs of services are satisfied.

A CCAB qualification and experience of financial modelling is essential in providing you with the necessary skills to fulfil the roles, which will be varied and afford the opportunity for you to demonstrate your many qualities, which will include planning and organising workloads and your ability to provide high quality advice to Members and Officers alike.

We encourage applications from all sections of the community to enable us to represent the neighbourhoods in which we serve.

Council employees are required to abide by the ethical standards embodied by the 7 NOLAN principles of conduct in public life. These include selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty and leadership.

We welcome applications from the BAME community.
