Adult Learning Tutor

The Rutland Adult & Community Learning Service provides opportunities for adults to improve their skills through a wide range of academic and vocational courses. Qualifications gained through adult learning play an important role in seeking employment, we are looking for Tutors to work with us to continue to deliver a varied range of subjects. If you are passionate about enabling individual learners to achieve their learning outcomes, we want to hear from you……

About you…

  • Qualification or experience in the subject specialism to Level 4 equivalent
  • Experience of teaching/training or working with groups of adults, with a level 3 qualification in Education & Training (or TEFL equivalent)
  • An understanding of the principles underpinning teaching of adults, e.g. planning, delivery, assessment and evaluation of learning
  • An awareness of different learning strategies and teaching methods suitable for teaching a diverse range of abilities.
  • An awareness of Safeguarding requirements in an education setting.

We need Tutors to deliver the following subjects:

  • English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), up to level 2 – Online or face to face delivery
  • Digital Skills, up to level 2

To be successful as a Rutland Adult & Community Learning Tutor you will ensure the completion of all relevant support activities and documents and participate in the Service’s Self-assessment and Quality Assurance procedures.

Please note, a full driving license and access to a vehicle will be required as there may be a need to travel to various sites across the county.

The successful applicant for this post will be subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The costs for the DBS are paid by us.
