Tree Officer

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced arboriculturist to join our multi-disciplinary team on a part time basis, helping to manage the trees and woodlands across Rutland. The post holder will work alongside the planning officers and assist in providing advice to the Councils’ wide range of internal and external customers on all matters relating to trees throughout the County.

About you…
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who is passionate about the natural environment and can help deliver a forward thinking arboricultural service. With a C&G/NPTC LANTRA Licence to Practice at Level 3 or equivalent, they will have the knowledge and practical experience of a wide range of tree surgery operations with experience of tree assessment, prescribing appropriate arboricultural management and giving expert advice.        

About the role…
This high-profile role will be responsible for delivering the council’s statutory duties for the protection of trees. Along with responsibility for administering and determining applications for works to trees in Conservation areas and those protected by Tree Preservation Orders, including compliance and enforcement where breaches occur, it will also be influencing development in the County by guiding the council on decisions for planning applications.

Tree Officer Interviews will be held week commencing 11th October 2022
