Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
Base Location: Working from home and any CBC offices, including Priory House, Shefford. You will be expected to attend a CBC office location on a monthly basis, and as needed to carry out your role
Contract Type: Hybrid - Permanent

More about the role:
This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Housing Finance Team, part of the Corporate Finance Team, playing a key role in supporting the Housing Service by delivering accurate and timely financial advice where applicable.
Assisting the Housing Accountant in the preparation and presentation of budget monitoring and management information in conjunction with budget managers, to ensure that financial issues are properly represented, both in terms of current and projected positions, recommending action in conjunction with the Housing Accountant where appropriate.
In this role you will need to be able to perform reconciliations such as the reconciliation between the rent sheet and the Housing QL system monthly to ensure accurate information is held for the following: service charges, rents, archetypes and bedrooms.
The successful post holder will also be responsible for ensuring the accurate allocation of capital spend to individual properties, to ensure that the Council’s Asset Register accurately reflects the value of capital improvements.
Maintaining knowledge and understanding of Right to Buy (RtB) regulations, to enable the necessary checks to be carried out to ensure that cost floor regulations and appropriate discounts are applied.
The successful candidate will ideally need be AAT qualified or hold an accountancy degree. Knowledge of local government environment would be advantageous. Good communication skills and a proven ability to work with complex data and spreadsheets is essential. You will need to be able to work on your own initiative, and under pressure to achieve tight deadlines.
