Barnet Registration: Nationality Service is statutorily responsible for the registration of births and deaths, marriage and civil partnership legal notices and ceremonies, reproduction certificates, and citizenship ceremonies, in addition to non-statutory ceremonies such as renewal of vows and baby naming.

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join Barnet Registration Service as Ceremonies Business Development Lead.
The Ceremonies Business Development Lead will be key in establishing a sustainable service model for ceremonies within Barnet, whilst maximising income and looking for new opportunities for growth. This will enable us to continue to build upon the recent improvements to our facilities and ensure that increased demand is sustained.
This new role is an opportunity for an individual that enjoys building income generation opportunities that arise from networking with local communities and businesses and working within a fast-paced environment. The post holder will be vital in creating an identity for Barnet’s ceremonies business and will be responsible for developing a business strategy and leading our branding, marketing, and social media presence.
As the post holder will be responsible for the expansion and promotion of our ceremonies business, utilising excellent networking and stakeholder engagement skills to firmly make Barnet a destination for ceremonies in London. As a driver for change you will have strong communication skills and be able to communicate with, and influence, people from a range of backgrounds and work with our diverse communities to achieve positive outcomes.
You will be an enthusiastic individual who is keen to drive change through innovative uses of technology and marketing techniques to improve the commercial viability of the ceremonies service. Devising strategies to meet increased income targets, you will be able to manage and actively monitor relevant expenditure and income against the budget. The post holder will have an understanding of the configuring, recruitment, and implementation of different resourcing models.
Key Skills & Accountabilities:
1. Proven track record of consistently demonstrating high levels of customer service
2. Ability to create and implements new and innovative approaches to tackling problems, examines the cause of problems as well as symptoms. Uses evaluative judgement based on analytical and interpretive thinking to devise and implement, and improve, work streams
3. Identifies important milestones and secures the resources needed to achieve medium to long-term objectives, promotes and ensures use of effective business systems, premises and new technology
4. Confident understanding and application of principles and procedures of how to analyse and review business processes and make changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
