We are looking for a well-organised, motivated individual to work in the Democratic Services Team on a full-time, permanent basis. Working as part of a small, friendly and busy team, you will provide a high-quality PA and administration service to the Council Leader and Mayor.
You will organise meetings which may require the occasional evening attendance, produce agendas and minutes, manage diaries, be responsible for the Mayoral budgets and deal with correspondence within a busy environment. A key part of the role will be to develop and maintain effective relationships with Councillors, senior council officers and senior partner organisations, including contacts in key regional and national organisations.
You will need to be educated to a good standard, with previous experience working in a board-level environment, have a good knowledge of IT and systems, with excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and high levels of political awareness with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
