Team Leader - Parks

We are looking for a suitable applicant for the post of Team Leader in Parks and Countryside, North District, Wirral Borough Council.

About the Role

Parks and Countryside is divided into six operational areas.  As Team Leader you would assist the General Parks Manager with the day to day management of Parks and Open Spaces, Allotments, Countryside, Coastal Areas, Play Grounds, Events, Trees and Cemeteries within a designated area, through management of rangers and grounds maintenance operational staff, and working with Friends Groups and other organisations.

About the candidate

You will be required to have an experience of working in a Parks and Countryside or similar setting, with supervisory management experience.  You also need to have appropriate Health and Safety experience, be familiar with the Green Flag Award scheme, and with Management Plans.

You will have excellent communication skills and an ability to work with Council staff, public agencies, voluntary organisations, allotment groups and plot-holders.  You will have experience of managing budgets and ideally have experience in one or more of Parks and Countryside's related specialisms.  You will also require a full driver's licence.
