Wokingham Borough Council is looking for a dynamic senior finance business partnering professional to lead the Council’s finance support to the new Organisational Foundations Project. You will be a key financial advisor to the Deputy Chief Executive, working to ensure the Council can deliver challenging budget targets in the light of high demand and demographic pressures.

As a qualified accountant with significant experience in public sector accounting, you will provide high level options appraisals; options for change; and financial delivery support. This will include timely and high-quality strategic and technical financial advice, ensuring finance oversight, the continuity of sound financial management, governance, and value for money.

Reporting to the Head of Finance Business Partnering, your role will include the provision of guidance and support to the Council’s budget managers, as well as developing strong working relationships with key stakeholders.

About you:

To be considered for the role you must be a qualified accountant (exceptionally QBE will be considered) with management and leadership experience some of which would have been gained in the local government sector. Able to demonstrate excellent stakeholder management skills, strong communication, and presentation skills you will also have an outstanding track record in delivering a customer focused service.
