North Somerset Council is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to a social worker or registered health professional with extensive experience of safeguarding adults work.


You will work in a supportive team that undertakes individual and organisational safeguarding adults work. The successful applicant will be responsible, under the supervision of the team manager, for overseeing a team or registered professionals and adult social care workers who are making S.42(1) decisions and undertaking S.42(2) safeguarding adults enquiries. This will involve chairing safeguarding adults meetings. Significant experience in safeguarding adults work is essential. It is a high-profile role that involves undertaking service monitoring activities, whole service enquiries and work with adults who are funded by health and other local authorities. You will also provide advice and guidance on safeguarding adults matters to local authority and multi-agency partners.


You will also have a key role in supporting the work of the safeguarding adults board sub-groups, policy and process development and training.
