The Procurement Officer will support the Corporate Category Manager to guide, advise and run a wide range of procurement activities across key service areas. The role specifically supports ICT, Transport, Engineering Goods and Communications – but work may cross into other categories as required.
We are looking for an experienced procurement professional who can quickly become confident in leading their own portfolio of tenders and related activities while supporting and embedding the category management approach.
Previous experience of public sector procurement – across various routes e.g. closed and open tenders, use of dynamic purchasing systems and / or use of frameworks including further competition and direct award would be useful for this role.
The Commissioning & Procurement Team work closely with colleagues across all service areas so the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels will be key.

This role offers a hybrid working style – with 40% of time spent within the office in Newbury – and the remainder of time working from home – in line with current Council policy, and once induction period has been completed.
