Mental Health Support Worker

Levenshulme, Manchester

Permanent role, Full Time (37.5 hpw)

19,650 to £21,178 per annum (£10.05 to £10.83 per hour) plus great benefits

Making a real difference to customers lives. That?s when it hits home.

We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our truly brilliant team who are making a huge difference to customers across the Manchester area.

As Recovery Support Worker at our Beech Range service in Levenshulme, you?ll be joining an incredible 12 bed, step-down service that is run in partnership with Greater Manchester Mental Health Trust.  We support customers who have been in an acute hospital setting who are well enough to leave hospital but need support either returning to their home or finding a new forever home.

It?s a fast-paced role where no two days are the same and you?ll be helping customers develop the skills that they need to manage their mental health and live independently in their own home.

About the role

It really is a great place to work!  In fact, did you know Home Group is 5^th best to work in the UK (non-profit & charity organisations)? But don?t just take our word for it, here?s what our colleagues have to say - 10 reasons to love working at Home Group

Working alongside Liam, our Senior Client Services Manager and the team, you?ll help our customers identify their aspirations and goals, creating support plans to achieve these.  Everything you?ll do in your job will be person centred around our customers.  You?ll support and empower them as they develop their independent living skills, undertaking risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews. You may also support them in medication management attending appointments or taking part in a range of social activities such as going to the gym to aid recovery.

You can find out more about the role in our Supported Living Coordinator job description.

About you

You?re compassionate, motivated and use your empathy and creativity to help customers reach their full potential. You make every customer feel valued, ensuring respect and dignity at all times.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to expand their current knowledge in step-down services.  You?ll have previous experience, whether in a similar role or lived experience caring for a family member for example. You?ll know about support planning, safeguarding, risk assessment and ensuring confidentiality.

You?ll be comfortable using technology to create and update support plans as well as completing online learning.  A Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is preferred but not at all essential as we?ll fund and support you to gain the qualification if you don?t already have it.

You?ll need to travel to support your customers in the community.  You can use public transport to do this (or your own vehicle if you have one) and we?ll pay for your travel expenses whilst at work.

We?ll need you to have a current Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for this before you join if you don?t have a transferrable one.

Be yourself at Home

Home?Group?is?committed to?tackling?prejudice and discrimination, not just for our customers, but?for our?colleagues too!?We?re super proud of our internal Diversity Networks and allies (Multicultural, LGBTQIA+ and Disability) which support colleagues from different backgrounds to be their true selves.
