Leisure Assistant (Lifeguard)

This post offers an exciting opportunity to enter the leisure industry. In your role you will be responsible, as part of a team, for maintaining the smooth running of the modern Salt Ayre Leisure Centre.

Duties include: supervising the swimming pool and flume, setting up and cleaning equipment for a wide range of sporting activities will be some of your day-to-day duties.

You will be the face of the Leisure Centre and it is a great opportunity to be part of an enthusiastic, passionate, and vibrant team.

You will be confident and outgoing as your duties will include organising school holiday events and children’s birthday parties.

If required, Pool Lifeguard Training will be given to the successful candidates.

This post is permanent. Your hours of work will be 37 per week, working 5 days out of 7 on a shift rota basis.

Shifts will be based around the centre opening times; 6:00am to 11:00pm Mon to Fri and 8.00am-8.00pm at weekends. This post is based at Salt Ayre Leisure Centre.

An enhanced clearance with the Disclosure and Barring Service is essential.

A swimming ability test will be included as part of the interview process, and more information about what is expected in the Swimming Ability test can be found on the Job Description.

Lancaster City Council has unanimously declared a climate emergency and will therefore work towards reducing carbon emissions to net-zero by 2030. As part of this role, you will be expected to participate and work towards reducing carbon emissions.
