About the Role
We are looking for a Supported Housing Officer who will oversee and implement the commissioning/award of grant, procurement, funding and monitoring of a number of supported housing services. The role provides the opportunity to develop approved programmes of accreditation and service reviews for contracted providers. There will also be a requirement to maintain and develop strategies, grant application, protocols and pathways for accommodation options across all service providers.
Some day to day duties will involve:
' Manage, develop, and maintain contracting procedures that meet the requirements of the Supported Housing/Homeless Services and the Council's regulations.
' Manage contract negotiations with providers in accordance with performance targets that achieve value for money and improved outcomes for clients, under the direction of the Senior Manager.
' Compile, analyse and report on quantitative and qualitative needs analyses to inform commissioning decisions. Making recommendation about strategic priorities, future funding and scheme approvals. To identify gaps in supported housing provision and to ensure that commissioned/grant funded services meet the needs of vulnerable people and are strategically relevant to all stakeholders.
' Day to day management of the Supported Housing budgets of approximately 5 Million, which include grant awards, under the direction of the Senior Manager, to ensure that all activities are cost effective, value for money and financial targets met.
' Prepare and contribute to the development of external funding bids to maximise inward investment and support partner to secure funding to enhance/develop supported housing and homelessness services. To ensure that strategic housing projects are effectively monitored and delivered.
About the candidate
The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing service specifications and contracts and will be able to monitor, analyse and report on financial data. The role requires strong analytic and problem solving skills and an ability to work to tight timescales. You will hold a relevant degree or vocational equivalent in Housing or Adaptation and/or have extensive experience working within a Housing Services.
