Business Support Officer

Uttlesford District is consistently identified as one of the best places to live in the UK. And yet, the district still retains its rural character, alongside its market towns and villages.

We are looking for two Business Support Officers to join our Economic Development Team that leads on the Council’s economic growth agenda. This is a demanding yet varied and rewarding role.

The main focus of the role is to deliver the Council’s Economic Recovery Plan which has been developed in response to the Covid-19 pressures being brought upon Uttlesford businesses.

In addition the post holders will be involved in economic development projects in the town centres and with the tourism sector. We are looking to develop initiatives to help people into work, help them start new businesses, including green economy businesses and help existing businesses to grow.

The post holders will ideally have experience of delivering projects, resolving issues when they arise and responding to enquiries from the public. Very good communication and interpersonal skills are essential because of the wide range of people the role interacts with. You will also have good IT skills and have a confident methodical and organised approach to your workload and team resources.
