Asset management and housing management services for tenants and leaseholders of Lewes District Council and Eastbourne Borough Council is now being delivered by Homes First.  Launched in Spring 2018, Homes First amalgamates Lewes District Council's in house management of social housing with Eastbourne Borough Council’s arms length management organisation (ALMO) Eastbourne Homes Ltd. Homes First manages a combined property portfolio of over 8,500 homes and will invest almost £20million per annum in maintenance, service contracts, major repairs and improvements. Homes First has a varied property portfolio from rural individual properties to flats in busy town centres Our service is also growing as the Councils' new investment companies develop new housing covering a range of different tenures and accommodation types.

The in-house Property Services Team designs and manages a proactive programme of major works to Homes First housing stock. The post-holder will support a team of Project Surveyors and ensure the Councils’ interests are protected by inspecting the workmanship, quality and safety of major repair and improvement projects on site.

The post-holder needs to be a competent communicator with experience of undertaking methodical and detailed site inspections, with a working knowledge of Building and Construction practices, Health & Safety legislation and Building and Planning Regulations.
