Catering Supervisor

CATERING SUPERVISOR – HBC5 (£22,571 - £24,920)

FULL-TIME PERMANENT POSITION: TERM TIME plus 5 INSET days

COMMENCEMENT 01/12/22 or as soon as possible

The Bridge School is an SEMH Pupil Referral Unit for KS3 & KS4 students in the borough of Halton. Our students are fantastic, interesting, and loyal young people, who we have the highest regard for, and whom we are fully committed to. They can present challenging behaviour at times.

The school requires an inspirational and committed Catering Supervisor, who will also be an active and influential member of the school staff team. You will have a personality that is positive, resilient, and always prepared to overcome any challenge that is presented. You will have a passion for feeding people, creating a culture of anticipation and excitement about your food and what it can bring to the culture of the school and community. It is massively important that our children are well fed with good food, and happy to eat.

This is a position that is open to development that matches the requirements of the school and community. As such you must be flexible, person centred, and keen to make a difference. You will be able to make food an educational experience and feel integrated into the school day and the school community. Occasionally, where appropriate your kitchen may facilitate education opportunities that might include student work experience. Your communication skills will be outstanding, displaying the ability to form and maintain respectful relationships with both students and staff.

You must be able to manage order resources, prepare food and present it in a timely and efficient way, within the highest standards of hygiene and safe practice. You will be responsible for relationships with suppliers, the inventory and maintenance of equipment, and administrative and management processes connected to the role. As the service develops you will be responsible for the kitchen staff who work under your direction and supervision.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop within a small but vibrant school setting, and to have a significant impact on the life outcomes of the young people in our care, and the staff team you work with. We are a small, tight and proud team who welcome passion, commitment, and a desire to overcome and see change. If you think you are this person, please contact the Head Teacher, Nigel Hunt. He will be happy to speak to you in detail about the post.

You should note that Safeguarding young people is at our core and, if successful, you will be required to obtain a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check or Enhanced DBS Check for Regulated Activity (formerly Criminal Records Bureau). Further information about DBS checks can be found at www.gov.uk/disclosure-barring-service-check

The Council and its schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff, workers and volunteers to share this commitment.

The Bridge School is an equal opportunities organisation which welcomes applications from all sections of the community. For any questions or a discussion on this post pelase contact Nigel Hunt on 01928 581301
