Senior Project Surveyor

The role

An exciting opportunity to join the Asset Maintenance team within Campus Division as a Senior Project Surveyor, providing a professional building surveying service to the University.

The role will lead on the successful delivery of capital maintenance and minor faculty projects to support strategic aims of the Estates Strategy and enhancing the Built Environment and facilities.

What will you be doing?

You will play a key role in leading and line managing a team of project surveyors, providing project execution planning and technical excellence, as well as governance of H&S, project processes and procurement and financial management.

The role will be responsible for delivering project and maintenance works typically up to a value of £500k through the complete project lifecycle to a diverse building stock, ranging from Grade II Listed buildings through to state-of-the-art facilities and everything in between.

The role will also assist with the appointment and ongoing management of a framework of external surveying consultants to support the internal project team.

You will liaise with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of strategic project programmes through collaboration and proactive contract and project management.

You should apply if

You are qualified in a field relating to building surveying or construction project management, with demonstrable post qualification experience.

You will have experience of undertaking building projects across a varied portfolio of different construction types, with a good understanding of industry best practice project management methodologies.

You can lead a multi-disciplinary project team, providing technical guidance on building pathology and ensuring compliance with construction and H&S related legislation.

You have a broad range of experience and interests within a project construction environment such as decarbonisation, heritage building conservation and other key specialisms.
