Making A Difference as A Rough Sleeping Co-ordinator in Place Services Directorate

The Department for Levelling up Housing and Communities (DLUHC) have awarded funding to St Helens Borough Council as part of its Rough Sleeper Initiative programme 2022/2025.

The Rough Sleeping Co-Ordinator post forms part of the Council’s approach to reducing homelessness and ending rough sleeping.  This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably motivated and skilled individual to join the Council and work as part of a team to fundamentally reform the response to homelessness and rough sleeping.

You will work with the Strategic Housing & Homelessness Policy Officer, to shape and monitor the initiatives funded by the Rough Sleeper Initiative programme.

You will have responsibility for monitoring initiatives and ensuring the Council are delivering the outcomes of the Rough Sleeper Action Plan, as well as leading on the Council’s multi agency response.

You will play a key role in the work around complex lives.

You will be an active part of the Allocations Panel for the Rough Sleeper Accommodation Programme accommodation within St Helens.

You will also have responsibility for the monitoring of performance of various activities and be the lead Officer for organising and conduction Rough Sleeper counts and estimates and reporting back to DLUHC.

You will need to show a drive and commitment to ending rough sleeping as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders. A willingness to learn, adapt and lead change is essential.
