Area Contracts Manager

We are seeking an exceptional individual to join us as an Area Contracts Manager. This role is an interesting opportunity to be responsible for managing and overseeing the planning and delivery of housing repairs and maintenance services ensuring that all objectives, targets, contractual responsibilities and obligations are achieved.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Repairs and Maintenance Contract manager to join our high-profile Asset Management team at Thurrock.  You’ll need proven experience of managing effective and customer focussed housing maintenance services preferably in a social housing setting.  

The scope of this role includes the day-to-day management of the contracted housing repairs and planned maintenance services serving a housing stock of circa 10,000 properties. It also has responsibility for managing contractor performance, compliancy services, planned maintenance works and delivery of social value objectives.

With extensive repairs and stakeholder management experience, you’ll be very familiar with effective management of contracts, governance reporting and regulatory compliance requirements in housing services. You will also be used to effectively monitoring and managing contract budgets, financial reporting and managing payments.

You’ll demonstrate a positive outlook in operational delivery and will use your proven stakeholder management skills to build and maintain excellent partnerships. You will be highly organised in planning and coordinating your work and strive for continuous improvement. You will be performance driven and used to anticipating and managing risks and issues and taking corrective action.

Due to the nature of the work, you must have a flexible approach to working hours.  The postholder can expect a to take a hybrid approach in terms of working location being based partly at home and partly in the office and will need to be able to travel across the borough.
