We have a brilliant opportunity for you to join our Place team as an Assistant Design Advisor. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about supporting us to provide the right homes in the right places for our customers with high-quality design at the heart of our offer.

About the role
In this fantastic role, you’ll support us to deliver high quality design across our new build homes, helping us to create excellent homes and places where our customers want to live.
Working closely with David our Head of Design and our Senior and Urban Designer, you’ll be supporting in the design management and review of our individual housing schemes. This will include helping to produce sketches of our housing developments to assess the potential and viability of sites, preparing briefing documents and assessing current projects against our design standards. You’ll ensure we continue to deliver high quality design. You’ll also support the team in the successful delivery of architects and related design consultant services.

You’ll already have the following technical skills;
- An understanding of the planning system and building regulations in England and Scotland and able to share this knowledge to support briefings.
- A working knowledge of design values, standards and able to support the commissioning of architect’s services and design competitions.
- Experience of software and systems including, Autocad(CAD), Sketch Up (massing/3D design), Adobe Photoshop and InDesign(graphic/ presentation.
- Able to support site assessments, analysis and capacity studies.

Working hours and working flexibly
Hours are full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Work is a thing you do, not a place you go. This role is hybrid based from home and our office in Newcastle with occasional travel where required.
