Horsham District Council are looking for an Events Officer to oversee, manage and coordinate community-focused events in Horsham Town Centre and to support events across Horsham District.
As Events Officer you will be looking to oversee the creation of a vibrant range of events, activities and experiences that will appeal to the community and visitors to the town. Coordinating and working across a variety of different service areas within the Council, ensuring that processes are aligned and communication is clear. You will be looking to outsource delivery aspects to independent specialist organisations where needed, whilst working within the Council’s procurement rules. You will have a pro-active and solutions-focussed attitude, working in partnership and providing support to community groups that wish to put on their own events.
It’s an exciting role with plenty of scope to get creative and would suit an individual with demonstrable events management or relevant project management experience.
The ability to build positive relationships with a range of people, organisations and stakeholders with differing priorities and expertise is key, in a sensitive and collaborative manner. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The working hours will be Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm with some ad hoc weekend/evening working, depending on events, with time to be taken back in lieu.
