About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed specialist teacher of children and young people with a visual impairment to join the Brighton and Hove Inclusion Support Service (BHISS) Sensory Needs Team. 

We provide high quality advice, support, training and direct teaching to children and young people with visual impairments, their schools and families. 

The service works across Brighton and Hove and supports throughout the age range from diagnosis to further education. 

if you are:

  • a qualified VI teacher (QTVI) or an exceptional classroom teacher who is willing to complete the mandatory training 
  • committed to providing high quality educational opportunities for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities 
  • able to work effectively with colleagues in education, health, social care, families and other agencies
  • committed to promoting successful inclusion and have experience of outreach or consultancy work in schools

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
